Absolute Construction is committed to continuously learn about best building practices.  One of the applications we are going to offer that we learned from a Best Building Practice training Nelu Skumpija and our project manager, Joe Kennedy, attended, is to install 1” exterior insulation. It consists of applying a rigid foam insulation that is installed on the exterior of 2” X 6” wood stud walls. It has a thermal resistance of R-5 per inch of thickness that blankets the exterior frame, which is installed in addition to the R-19 fiberglass insulation, reducing heat loss through the stud walls and saving money on energy bills. It is lightweight, yet strong and easy to handle and trim. It also serves as an air barrier due to the density.
